The Centre for Monitoring and Research (CeMI) successfully organized the first workshop dedicated to the political rights and participation of minorities in Montenegro, held on November 7 at the PR Centre in Podgorica. The lecturer at the workshop was Dr. Nenad Koprivica, a distinguished expert in this field.
The participants included representatives of national minority councils, local and state institutions, civil society organizations, as well as students.
The aim of the workshop was to enhance participants’ knowledge of the political rights of minorities and the importance of their active involvement in the decision-making process. Through interactive discussions, practical examples, and group work, participants had the opportunity to learn more about the legal framework and mechanisms of political participation at both the local and national levels. They also analyzed key challenges and opportunities for improving the position of minorities in Montenegro.
This educational activity represents an important step towards strengthening the democratic process, improving minority political participation, and building an inclusive society in Montenegro.
The workshop was organized within the project “Voice without Barriers: Towards Greater Political Participation of Minorities”, implemented by CeMI in partnership with the NGO Roma Youth Organization “Walk with Us – Phiren Amenca”, with the financial support of the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.
