The Centre for Monitoring and Research (CeMI) has accredited more than a thousand short-term observers to the State Election Commission (SEC) who will monitor the election process at polling stations throughout Montenegro during the presidential elections scheduled for March 19.

This was announced by the election administration analyst at CeMI and SEC observer Vladimir Simonovic.

"CeMI will, among other things, supervise the work of the SEC and municipal election commissions, and we will evaluate the election results on a sample basis," Simonovic said.

He said that for the purposes of observing the elections, CeMI has developed the mobile and web application Fer izbori, which is available for mobile devices in the Apple store and Google play store, as well as on www.ferizbori.me.

"We invite citizens to download the Fair Elections application and to report any irregularities they notice during the election day. In addition to the application, citizens will have access to a phone number through which they will be able to report irregularities to our legal team," Simonovic said.

He announced that CeMI will communicate with citizens through social networks and TV broadcasters.

"CeMI will hold regular press conferences during the election day. "Citizens can expect the first projections of the preliminary results of the presidential elections soon after the closing of the polling stations, which will depend on how the results from those polling stations arrive," Simonovic pointed out.

As he said, citizens will be able to follow the projections of the election results live through the website www.izbori.cemi.org.me.

CeMI will carry out civil monitoring of the elections, within the project supported by the British Embassy Podgorica.
