PUBLIC CALL

FOR PARTICIPATION IN A REGIONAL ART WORKSHOP

ART FOR SOCIAL CHANGE - A VIEW OF CORRUPTION

In order to contribute to the fight against corruption through alternative ways and to sensitize the artistic community in communicating current societal challenges, the Center for Civic Education (CCE) and NGO For Others invite young artists and students of audio-visual, dramatic and visual arts to participate in a regional arts workshop ART FOR SOCIAL CHANGE - A VIEW OF CORRUPTION.

The focus of activities and work on the art workshop will be the participation of young artists and art students in reviewing artistic practices that create an important archive of socially engaged art. The result of the workshop will be the development of original copyright solutions, works of art in various media that should contextualize the perception, causes and consequences of corrupt practices in all social and political aspects and offer an innovative perspective that influences public opinion and sensitization about the harmful effects of corruption on overall social development.

The workshop will last for three days (preliminary dates are October 29 - October 31, 2019). The organizer provides the costs of travel, accommodation and stay, as well as basic materials needed for the artist's work during the workshop. Respected lecturers and mentors will moderate the work, the dynamics of the activity, as well as the dispersion of work that will ensue.

The deadline for submitting a public call is October 23, 2019, 3pm.

In order to apply for a public call, the following documentation must be submitted in electronic form:

  • author's first and last name, contact telephone and e-mail address;
  • brief biography (with particular reference to works or activities in this area, if any);
  • proposal of the necessary material for work during the duration of the regional art workshop.

Applications are sent to: info@cgo-cce.org with the indication "Applying for a public call for a regional workshop". Incomplete applications will not be considered.

All works from the regional art workshop will be presented on the project site, as an integral part of the project, but also as an expression of engaged art that, in its specific expression, can in a unique way illuminate numerous social problems and inspire other similar artistic interventions.

A public call for participation in a regional art workshop on communicating corruption through the artists' vision was announced as part of the project LET'S PUT CORRUPTION IN THE MUSEUM! implemented by the Center for Civic Education (CCE) in partnership with the NGO The Centre for Monitoring and Research (CeMI) from Podgorica, the NGO Bonum from Pljevlja, the NGO UL Info from Ulcinj and the NGO For Others from Petrovac, in cooperation with the Anti-Corruption Agency and the Ministry of Public Administration. The project is funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and co-financed by the Ministry of Public Administration.
