Local consultations in ten municipalities

11. Mar. 2019. in news

The Centre for Monitoring and Research (CeMI) has so far organized local consultations with citizens in ten of Montenegro’s municipalities (Podgorica, Niksic, Danilovgrad, Pljevlja, Zabljak, Savnik, Pluzine, Herceg Novi, Kotor, Bijelo Polje) with the goal of a more quality overview of citizens’ perception on the new electoral reform.

Local consultations with citizens are being realized within the project Let Free Elections Become a Habit! – Building Trust in the Integrity of the Electoral Process in Montenegro, which is being realized with the support of the European Commission.

In this way, CeMI has made possible for all interested citizens to actively participate in the process of formulating conclusions and recommendations and to be included in a more intensive discussion and point out the problems and possible solutions when it comes to the current electoral framework and also share their direct experiences when it comes to the electoral process and their voting rights.

In the coming period, CeMI will continue holding local consultations and all interested citizens are more than welcome to participate in the public discussion.
