Today, two meetings of the Citizens’ Council for Free and Fair Elections were held, within the project “Let Free Elections Become a Habit – Building Trust in the Integrity of the Electoral Process in Montenegro”, which is being implemented by CeMI, with the financial support of the European Commission.
At the meetings, the forming of two work groups was verified, which will be dealing with questions about the electoral legislation reform, analysis of the work advancement of electoral bodies and media laws.
The Citizens’ Council for Free and Fair Elections will continue its intensive work, with the goal of developing dialogue and exchanging ideas, regarding the new electoral reform, as the basic precondition for conducting free and fair elections in Montenegro.
At today's sessions of the Council, recommendations by professor Djordjije Blazic were commented on, and it was agreed that on the next one reports on local consultations and public discussions will be analyzed, which CeMI is organizing in all municipalities of Montenegro. Also, the draft of the recommendations of the Centre for Monitoring and Research will be analyzed.
The Citizens’ Council for Free and Fair Elections remains open for expansion and soon we can expect the presentation of new members.
