Project coordinator, Maja Bjelic, talked about the technological improvements of the app ‘’For healthier health care’’ as well as the possibilities that are offered by the said app to the citizens in the fight on corruption in health care and the respecting of the rights of the patients. The app was developed within the project ‘’For healthier health care’’ funded by the European Union, and co-funded by the Montenegrin Ministry of Public Administration.
Bjelic explained that the app is now available to all citizens, users of both Android and iOS devices, as well as via website www.zazdravijezdravstvo.me, she also pointed out that apart from the possibility of simple way of reporting corruption and violation of rights of the patients, the app has an informing character.
‘’Apart from that, the app allows citizens to, in every moment, follow the status of their and reports of others and in that way stay in touch with the institutions’ reactions to the request which based on their report the CeMI team sends’’, said Bjelic.
She also noted that the app allows the adding of photo, audio and video contents during the submission of a report, which serves as an additional proof while sending a request for reaction to the institutions in charge.
Bjelic invited all citizens to report corruption in health care and any kind of violation of rights of the citizens as patients and in that way contribute to achieving improvement in this area.
The project ‘’For healthier health care!’’ is implemented by the center for monitoring and research (CeMI) in partnership with the NGO Bonum, and is supported through the program ‘’OCD in Montenegro – from basic services to the shaping of politics – M’BASE’’ which are carried out by the Center of Civic Education (CCE), Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), the Center for Protection and Study of Birds of Montenegro(CPSB) and the Politikon network. The project is funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Ministry of Public Administration.
