CeMI has signed five Memoranda of Cooperation with the national councils of minority peoples in Montenegro. The memoranda were concluded with the Council of Muslims of Montenegro, the Roma Council of Montenegro, the Croatian National Council of Montenegro, the Albanian National Council, as well as the Bosniak Council of Montenegro.
The signed memoranda represent a foundation for establishing institutional cooperation and for the coordinated implementation of activities aimed at strengthening the political participation of minority peoples, improving their position, and increasing their involvement in democratic processes.
Some of the memoranda were signed through in-person meetings, while others were concluded via online communication, in accordance with the technical and organizational capacities of the parties. In this way, formal channels of cooperation have been established between CeMI and the national councils of minority peoples, further strengthening the institutional framework for the implementation of future joint activities.
Cooperation with the national councils represents an important step toward securing their support for planned trainings, informational activities, and public campaigns that CeMI will implement in the upcoming period, with the aim of strengthening political participation and representation of minority communities in Montenegro.
This activity was implemented within the project “Voice Without Barriers: Towards Greater Political Participation of Minorities”, which CeMI is implementing in partnership with the NGO Koračajte sa nama - Phiren Amenca, with financial support from the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.
