The active participation of all citizens is important for the development of democracy, which is why they should report all observed irregularities, violations of voting rights, abuse of state resources and misinformation in the run-up to and on the day of the presidential elections, which is enabled by the Fair Elections application of the Centre for Monitoring and Research (CeMI).
Civil sector representatives Maja Bjelic from the Center for Monitoring and Research CeMI, Milena Popović Samardzic from the Union of Doctors of Medicine of Montenegro, Marina Vujacic from the Association of Disabled Youth of Montenegro UMHCG, Damir Suljevic from the Center for Civic Education CGO and Marija Popovic agree with this assessment. Kalezic from the Center for Civil Liberties CEGAS.
Bjelic said that CeMI encourages voters to report irregularities, violations of voting rights and abuse of state resources through the Fair Elections application.
"CeMI's team will process all received applications and further process them to the competent institutions." The application also allows sending photos and videos that indicate the irregularity of the election process. "Citizens can download the application in the Playstore store, as well as on the website www.ferizbori.me," explained Bjelic.
Popović Samardzic said that the active participation of all citizens is important for the development of democracy.
"The mere existence of laws does not guarantee their implementation." That is why it is important to report irregularities to the civil sector. Download the CeMI Fair Elections application and report irregularities and violations of voting rights during the presidential elections," said Popovic Samardzic.
Vujacic called on all citizens of Montenegro, especially those who have the right to vote, to monitor and report all irregularities related to the election process, whether they occur during the election campaign or on election day.
"That is why it is important that they use CeMI's application and other mechanisms provided by law. If they do not exercise their right to vote, and they notice something that can negatively affect both the decision-making process and the regularity of the election process, they should report it and take an active part in the process," Vujacic pointed out.
Suljevic pointed out that fair elections are the only way for citizens' votes to really count.
"Don't let by looking away you participate in an unfair game and don't let the irregularities that you will keep silent overshadow democracy." Make your choice fair. The CeMI Fair Elections application allows you to report irregularities and violations of voting rights during the presidential elections scheduled for March 19," Suljevic said.
Popovic Kalezic called on citizens to report irregularities in the elections and to know that their vote is theirs alone.
"For your voice and the voice of others to be equally valued and observed, know that you should point out all indirect and immediate irregularities during the election." For the greatest possible democratization of society, in order to change the electoral legislation, contribute in the best possible way and feel free to report irregularities. Download CeMI's Fair Elections application, which enables you to report violations of voting rights in part and in order to ensure the legality of the elections themselves," said Popovic Kalezic.
CeMI will carry out civil monitoring of the presidential elections, as part of a project supported by the British Embassy Podgorica.
