CeMI organized the second one-day workshop on the topic "Strengthening Gender Equality in State Institutions: Challenges and Implementation" on April 28 at the Business Start-Up Center in Bar, where the lecturer was the expert in the field of gender equality, Slavica Striković.

Among the participants were representatives from the Secretariat for Culture, Ministry of Interior, Center for Social Work, Employment Office, Secretariat for Social Welfare, Secretariat for Local Self-Government, Public Institution Cultural Center, and political parties. During the workshop, participants had the opportunity through interactive exercises and discussions to analyze key challenges and possibilities for improving the position of women in Montenegro.

Additionally, participants became more familiar with basic concepts of gender equality, including gender roles and stereotypes, through interactive discussions and a video clip that further illuminated the challenges women face in society. Special attention was given to gender-sensitive language, its proper use, and the legal obligations that institutions have in this area.

One of the important segments of the workshop related to the analysis of gender-disaggregated statistics, where participants discussed the importance of collecting and using data that enables the formulation of gender-aware policies. At the end of the workshop, participants were given a handbook on aspects of gender equality for civil servants and officials, which can help them in their daily work.

The entire program was designed to encourage participants to actively engage, exchange experiences, and collectively reflect on ways to improve the position of women in state institutions and society as a whole.

The workshop was organized within the project "Step Towards Equality: Proactive Measures for Gender Equality in Montenegro," which CeMI implements in partnership with NGO MASTER, with financial support from the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.
