During April and June, CeMI successfully organized three workshops dedicated to the political rights and political participation of minorities in Montenegro. The workshops were held on April 7th in the hall of the Municipality of Berane, on June 10th in the hall of the Municipality of Ulcinj, and on June 12th in the hall of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje.
The participants included representatives of minority communities, civil society organizations, local self-governments, and political parties.
The objective of the workshops was to enhance the participants' knowledge regarding the political rights of minorities and the importance of their active participation in decision-making processes. Through interactive discussions and the exchange of experiences, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the mechanisms of political participation, the relevant legal framework, as well as the challenges and opportunities for improving the position of minority communities at both local and national levels.
The conducted workshops represent a significant contribution to strengthening democratic values, encouraging active civic participation, and building a more inclusive society in Montenegro.
The workshops were realized within the framework of the project "Voice Without Barriers: Towards Greater Political Participation of Minorities," implemented by CeMI in partnership with the NGO Roma Youth Organization "Walk With Us - Phiren Amenca," with the financial support of the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.
