CeMI held a training on political rights, representation and political participation of the Roma population in Montenegro within the project called "On the way to the inclusion of the Roma population in the decision-making system in Montenegro".
During the one-day training for members of the Roma population, the lecturer were professor at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Montenegro, prof. Dr Danijela Vukovic-Calasan and Executive director of the NGO Roma Youth Organization "Koracajte sa nama - Phiren amenca", Mr. Elvis Berisa.
The topic of the first training session was the model of multiculturalism as a model of integration. Participants adopted knowledge, exchanged experiences and analyzed the opportunities and challenges of this model on the example of Montenegro.
During the second session of the training on political rights, representation and political participation of the Roma population in Montenegro, the participants acquired knowledge about the theoretical explanation of the mentioned terms. The lecturer and participants analyzed the position of the Roma population on the political map of Montenegro and discussed possible mechanisms for improving the position of this population in the political life of Montenegro by analyzing the positive practices of European Union countries.
Mr. Elvis Berisa spoke about models and mechanisms for encouraging greater participation of the Roma population in political life and decision-making positions.
The project called "On the way to the inclusion of the Roma population in the decision-making system in Montenegro" is financially supported by the Ministry of Justice, Human and Minority Rights of Montenegro.
