Contributing to the Reduction of Corruption in the Healthcare System of Montenegro
The Center for Monitoring and Research CeMI, in partnership with NGO Juventas, NGO Queer Montenegro and NGO Youth Network of Montenegro, within the project of the National Democratic Institute (NDI) – Support to civil society in the fight against corruption in the Western Balkan 2021 – 2023 is implementing the project 'Contributing to the Reduction of Corruption in the Healthcare System of Montenegro'. The project aims to raise public awareness of the problem of corruption in healthcare through the educational and informative campaign. The project will also provide a qualitative analysis of many of the gaps in the healthcare system, in particular regarding the protection of healthcare rights of different marginalized social groups by conducting focus groups. The focus groups will also deal with the problem of potential corruption that affects limitations in the provision of health services the LGBTIQ population, youth and women. The findings of the focus groups will be communicated to all relevant stakeholders in the form of recommendations for the improvement of the system. The purpose of this project is to advocate for the improvement of the public policies related to provision of health services to the LGBTIQ population, youth and women, and ultimately reducing the level of corruption in healthcare. The advocacy campaign will be linked to the recommendations from the analysis of the provision of healthcare for the LGBTIQ population, young people and women, and the existence of room for corruption in the provision of health care.

Specific objectives are:
1. Increased level of awareness of citizens about the importance of reporting corruption
2. Raised public awareness about healthcare rights of marginalized groups (LGBTIQ+, youth and women)
