On January 22, CeMI successfully organized the second workshop dedicated to political rights and political participation of minorities in Montenegro at the Information and Education Center in Nikšić. The workshop was delivered by Dr. Nenad Koprivica, a distinguished expert in this field.

Participants included representatives of the Roma and Egyptian (RE) population, local institutions, political parties, and civil society organizations.

The aim of the workshop was to enhance participants’ knowledge of minority political rights and the importance of their active involvement in decision-making processes. Through interactive discussions, practical examples, and collaborative work, participants had the opportunity to become familiar with the legal framework and mechanisms of political participation at both the local and national levels. Key challenges and opportunities for improving the position of minorities within the local community were also analyzed.

This training represents an important step toward strengthening democratic processes, improving the political participation of minorities, and building an inclusive society at both the national and local levels.

The workshop was implemented as part of the project “A Voice Without Barriers: Towards Greater Political Participation of Minorities,” carried out by CeMI in partnership with the NGO Roma Youth Organization “Walk With Us – Phiren Amenca,” with financial support from the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.
