On February 13, CeMI successfully organized the third workshop dedicated to the political rights and political participation of minorities in Montenegro, held at the Bar Municipality Hall. The workshop was led by Dr. Nenad Koprivica, a prominent expert in this field.

Participants included representatives of the Roma population, local institutions, political parties, and civil society organizations.

The aim of the workshop was to enhance participants’ knowledge of minority political rights and the importance of their active participation in decision-making processes. Through interactive discussions, practical examples, and collaborative work, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the legal framework and mechanisms for political participation at both local and national levels. Key challenges and opportunities for improving the position of minorities in local communities were also analyzed.

This training represents an important step toward strengthening the democratic process, improving minority political participation, and building an inclusive society, both nationally and locally.

The workshop was implemented as part of the project “Voice Without Barriers: Towards Greater Political Participation of Minorities”, which CeMI carries out in partnership with the NGO Roma Youth Organization “Walk with Us – Phiren Amenca”, with financial support from the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.
