Training on Writing effective policy papers

The Monitoring Center, in partnership with International Aid Network – IAN Belgrade, held the third training for the members of the Coalition for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion. The coalition was formed in the framework of the project “Strengthening capacities in advocacy and preparation of policies of the Coalition of NGOs in the fight against poverty and social exclusion”, consisting of nine organizations from Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is financially supported by the European Union, through the European Commission Delegation in Podgorica.

In order to strengthen the Coalition, we have successfully organized two training sessions for representatives from the Coalition on the topic of writing and preparation of proposals EU projects and advocacy based on facts. The last three-day training was held on Zlatibor from 23-25. April 2010 and was intended to strengthen the capacity of representatives of the Coalition for Social Change in the process of creating effective policy papers.

Participants have successfully mastered the subject matter of writing and preparation of effective policy papers and started to work on concrete proposals of public policies to combat poverty and social exclusion. Accordingly, the Coalition will prepare in the framework of the four policy studies and a summary of the four policy papers in the field of health, education, unemployment and social protection, which represent the four areas of the Strategy for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion.
