Vladimir Simonović is a legal professional with a law degree from the Mediterranean University's Law School, and he is currently pursuing a Master's degree, specializing in criminal law. Since 2019, he has been an integral member of CeMI's legal team, contributing to various projects, such as the Judicial Reform: Upgrading CSO's Capacities to Contribute to the Integrity of Judiciary, Restorative Justice - Alternative Sanctions to Re-socialization, Online Trials – A pathway to Efficient Judiciary etc.
In addition to his work at CeMI, Vladimir has made significant contributions to the field of legal research and analysis. He is the author and co-author of several studies in the fields of rule of law, human and minority rights, and electoral reform.
Vladimir has been actively involved in the promotion of fair and transparent elections in Montenegro and beyond. He served as a member of the Core Team during the Civic Monitoring of Parliamentary and Local Elections in Montenegro 2020 and the Civic Monitoring of Local Elections in Niksic 2021. Additionally, he was a short-term observer for ENEMO in the 2020 mission of Presidential Elections in Moldova, as well as a short-term observer for OSCE/ODIHR in the 2021 mission of Local Elections in Georgia and the 2022 General Elections in Serbia.
Vladimir's expertise extends beyond his practical experience, as he has participated in numerous conferences, seminars, and training programs in the fields of rule of law, human and minority rights, electoral rights, and organized crime and corruption. Additionally, he is fluent in English, and he possesses advanced computer skills, which he used to develop a web and mobile application for the analysis of trial monitoring data for the project “Access to Justice and Human Rights in Montenegro – trial monitoring project 2021-2023”, in which he serves as a trial monitor.
