Enhancing Judicial Mechanisms for the Fight against Gender-Based Violence
The project "Strengthening judicial mechanisms to combat gender-based violence" represents an approach to contribute to the achievement of gender equality and the provision of a more effective legislative framework for the prevention of violence against women, in accordance with the Council of Europe Convention on the Suppression and Prevention of Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence.
The primary goal of the project is to contribute to the reduction of all forms of violence, both against women and gender-based violence, followed by increasing the efficiency and responsibility of the judicial system and improving the trust of victims in the institutions of the system.
By implementing a series of activities, the project will contribute to the empowerment of victims of violence to report criminal acts of violence against women and gender-based violence, and provide greater trust in institutions and authorities. With a focus on the Convention of the Council of Europe, the project will also analyze the actions of the courts in proceedings regarding criminal acts of violence against women and gender-based violence.
This project is implemented by the Centre for Monitoring and Research CeMI, with the financial support from the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.
