Be ready for European values
The Centre for Monitoring and Research CeMI, in cooperation with partners: University of Donja Gorica, Art Communications from Podgorica, Center for International Studies from Croatia and Center for European Perspectives from Slovenia, is implementing a two-year project called "Be ready for EU values". The project is supported by the European Commission within the Erasmus Plus program (call KA2 - Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices, Capacity Building Youth - Western Balkans).
The BREV project (Be ready for EU values) aims to encourage cooperation and exchange of experience between young people from Montenegro and EU countries through the promotion of European values among young people in Montenegro. These values will be reflected through the improvement of the quality of youth work and informal education, the active participation of young people in the social, economic and political development of Montenegro and the encouragement of cooperation and exchange of experiences with EU countries.
Therefore, the target group of this project is young people, representatives of student and youth organizations, students and pupils, non-governmental organizations dealing with youth issues, local and national authorities, as well as the entire society. The vision of this project is reflected in the creation of an environment in Montenegro in which young people will actively participate in society and have quality formal and informal education that will lead them to secure employment and encourage them to strive for independence.
This project will be implemented through the implementation of numerous activities. At the beginning of the year, meetings with stakeholders will be held in order to harmonize the goals of public policies and project activities. It is planned to organize four workshops and four international schools, which will deal with topics related to human rights and democracy in the EU, EU citizenship, achieving the necessary knowledge and skills for young people, informal and sustainable education system, entrepreneurial ideas of young people in the EU, economic and social rights, as well as youth education in accordance with the needs of the labor market. The project envisages the exchange of best practices with young people from neighboring EU member states, which will be realized through the implementation of two study visits to Croatia and Slovenia.
The network of school and student organizations and all relevant organizations at the level of Montenegro will act as a national youth umbrella organization (National Youth Council) operating in the territory of the whole of Montenegro. The network will consist of active young citizens who participate in the creation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of youth policy in Montenegro. The Montenegrin Youth Network develops public policies for young people through information, public advocacy, thematic networking, international cooperation, support for the development of youth organizations and partnership with government institutions and local organizations operating throughout the territory of Montenegro.
Quality control and monitoring (QCM) of project activities will be carried out continuously during the duration of the project and will be carried out at several levels.
